Frequently Asked Questions.

  • Pastoral Care Worker (PCW), also known as a school chaplain, serves as a positive role model, providing compassionate support within schools and communities. • Candidates are typically required to have a minimum of a Certificate IV in a relevant field such as Chaplaincy, Youth Work, Mental Health, or Child, Youth, And Family Intervention. Additional qualifications or experience in Education, Counselling, or Community Services may also be considered.

We encourage you to reach out to our Recruitment Team. They will assess your qualifications and provide personalised advice on whether further study is needed to pursue a role as a PCW.

  • The duration of the required qualifications can vary. Generally, a Certificate IV can take between 6 to 12 months to complete, depending on the course structure and whether you choose full-time or part-time study options.
