Kimochis® Australia.
Kimochis® Australia is SMG's evidence-based social and emotional learning program for early childhood and primary school students. Built on 30 years of delivering wellbeing programs to South Australian schools, Kimochis® uses playful characters and age-appropriate activities to help children identify, express, and manage emotions — laying the foundations for empathy, communication, and lifelong connection.
What it is.
Kimochis® — meaning "feeling" in Japanese — centres on a cast of cuddly characters and feelings pillows that make emotional learning tangible and fun. From classroom curriculum and interactive role-plays to our exclusive live shows with singing and dancing, each experience helps children understand their own emotions and those of the people around them.
Why it matters.
When children can name and communicate their feelings, they build the social skills that underpin positive behaviour, learning readiness, and lasting friendships. Kimochis® develops respectful, resilient, and compassionate young people — complementing the wellbeing work already happening in your school or early learning community.
